Guests of Honor for RCFM Lucky 8

Fursuiter Guest of Honor - Robert King

In 1993, Robert King created a mailing list that connected hundreds of isolated furs around the world who wished to create animal costumes. This allowed a flurry of information sharing and camaraderie which helped produce an explosion of new costumes over the following decade. The community members even named the costumes "fursuits" after the name of the list.

Robert also created a furry track at "Duckon", a Chicagoland Science Fiction convention. This track grew and split off to become the convention "Midwest FurFest" of which Robert continues as President of the Board.

At Duckon, Robert created a "Furry Variety Show" which emphasized fursuit performance in a cooperative setting. This show also migrated to Midwest FurFest and continues today, keeping to its Vaudeville style.

Robert has created only a modest number of fursuits since he has spent most of his time facilitating the efforts of newcomers and coordinating activities. Most notable are a Samantha Kemple costume (character by Ken Sample) and a costume of Kevin Dewclaw (character by Bill Holbrook.)

Robert and his wife Candis have lived in the Chicagoland area for the last twenty years and have raised two sons. Robert, normally being a "behind the scenes" person, is delighted to have been selected by RCFM as a Guest of Honor.

Robert's web site is at http://www.speakeasy.org/~rcking/

Artist Guest of Honor - Xian Jaguar

XianJaguar has been involved in the fandom since 1998, but has been drawing anthropomorphic art ever since she could hold a pencil. She has contributed art to a variety of fanzines and comics, including Gallery, Hit the Beach, Women in Fur, ArtZone, Pawprints, Fur Visions, Dainties, and Fang, Claw & Steel.

She also has been a part of various large-scale group projects, such as the Wild Cats of the World card deck, the Totem Pathfinders card deck, and the Pin-Up Portfolio book. You can also find her art online, in galleries such as FurAffinity, DeviantArt, ArtSpots, VCL and Furocity, as well as spot her in the Dealer's Den at conventions such as Further Confusion, AnthroCon, Mephit Fur Meet, and now, RCFM.

In 2001, she was the recipient of an Ursa Major Award for "Best Anthropomorphic Published Illustration" for her cover work for Fur Visions, Issue #20.

XianJaguar loves Sushi, Pepsi, sleeping, drumming, Christian rock, art and being with friends. She's fascinated with the entire animal kingdom, but has a real soft spot for big cats, reptiles (especially snakes and frogs) and insects. She is very humbled and delighted to be chosen as one of RCFM's 2010 Guests of Honor.

Mystery Guest of Honor

This year we continue our tradition of selecting a Mystery Guest of Honor from our members!

Who will the Mystery Guest of Honor be? We won't know until Opening Ceremonies! EVERY registered attending member is going to be eligible (except for Staff); the "Mystery Guest" will be selected by a random drawing at Opening Ceremonies. That's right, there is a real chance that YOU could be our third Guest of Honor!

The winner will be invited to ALL GoH and Booster events and will be given ALL due recognition as our "Attendee Guest of Honor". Seriously! We're not kidding!

RCFM understands the importance of all our members, since we wouldn't even HAVE a Meet without your attendance. To show our appreciation, ONE lucky person is going to receive a great big thank you from RCFM and become an actual Guest of Honor! We would like to do this for everyone, but... "There can be only One".

(Note: We understand that not everyone would want to be the center of attention. So once we draw a name, that person will be given the choice to accept the position of "Attendee Guest of Honor", or to pass it on to the next name randomly drawn from the remaining eligible members. The person whose name is drawn must be in attendance at Opening Ceremonies to be eligible to win.)
