We are here to have a Meet, a get-together, a gathering of friends, and the chance to meet new ones.
We are here primarily to have fun and be ourselves. We're here to be who we really
are and not worry about the mundane concerns we think about the rest of the year. Here we can be who we
want to be. Still, we have to spell out those things that will and won't be acceptable behavior in
public areas, even though this may seem like common sense and to be self-evident.
The policy must be in place for the protection of all and must be held to by all. The reason we do
this now is so there can be no argument later about what the policy was, since this code of conduct
applies to everyone at the Meet without exception. Violations of these guidelines will be taken
seriously for the protection and safety of all attendees.
An attendee of RCFM, staff and volunteers included, will be given two warnings for minor offenses and
badge removal on the third offense. Serious offenses may have more severe penalties applied, but could
result in badge removal and expulsion. Removal of a badge means expulsion from the Meet and exclusion
from all Meet areas.
- RCFM Security Staff will have distinctive uniforms and/or badges and will be patrolling or
stationed at needed locations. Please cooperate with RCFM and hotel security at all times.
(Hotel staff should be considered the same as a member of the Meet Security Staff.) If Security
asks you to move your activities or modify your behavior, failure to do so is a violation.
- Don't hesitate to go to our Security Staff with problems, even if it is of a sensitive nature.
They are here to make a safe, fun Meet for everyone and not just to enforce rules.
- You must have your badge on you and visible at all times in Meet areas. Admittance to all Meet
areas requires a badge. Fursuiters or others in costume are also required to wear a badge at all
times. If you need a badge with a different name for this reason, you may inform the registrar
of the name and get a badge for it at the registration desk.
- Alcohol is not allowed in Meet areas, including the hallways, lobby, and on hotel property.
Alcohol is not allowed in hotel areas, excluding the Hotel bar. Please tip your bartender.
- Please be discreet if you have any alcohol in your private room. No public intoxication will be
tolerated, as per Alabama law, and the proper authorities will be notified in case of any
incidents.
- Meet participants under the age of 21 found drinking alcohol will have their badges removed and
will be expelled as this is a major violation. Anyone found serving alcohol to anyone under the
age of 21 will have their badges removed and will be reported to the proper authorities.
- Meet participants found with illegal substances will have their badges removed and will be
reported to the proper authorities as this is a major violation.
- Weapons are not allowed in any Meet areas, whether part of a costume or not, unless safeguarded
or peace-bonded. Safeguarded or peace-bonded weapons must be inspected and approved by a member
of the Security Staff before they will be allowed in any Meet areas.
- There will be no harassment of any attendee of any kind. Harassment is a major violation. If you
are told "no" or "leave me alone," you do not need to be told a second time.
If you find yourself a victim of harassment of any kind, please notify a member of Security
immediately.
- Any RCFM attendee may be required to show valid identification and/or proof of age at
registration. A distinctly colored badge will be issued to minors.
- Attendees under the age of 18 must inform the registration desk of their age at the time of
check-in and are required to have written and notarized permission slip from a parent or legal
guardian to attend the Meet. A copy of the release form can be found
here.
- Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or appointed
representative at all times in Meet areas. Penalties for security violations by a minor will be
levied upon the minor and the parent, guardian, or appointed
representative.
- Minors may not be admitted to certain areas or attend certain events, so please be aware of any
areas or events designated as Adult-Only.
- The taking of pictures for personal use is acceptable, but please ask before taking pictures. If
any pictures are used for professional purposes or for broadcast media in any way, shape, or
form without the express permission of RCFM Staff, they will be prosecuted to the fullest
extent of the law.
- Professional media and members of the press, in any shape or form, will not be allowed in any of
the RCFM or hotel areas unless they have requested a staff-approved press pass before May 9,
2007. Those requesting a press pass will be interviewed and have their background checked for
legitimacy.
- Individuals or groups granted a press pass must visibly identify themselves as press at all
times, to the approval of RCFM Staff. Press will also be required to request permission of any
and all individuals in any and all Meet areas for interviewing, taking of photos, film or video,
or any other activity intended for broadcast or public release.
- All Rules, General Guidelines, and Codes of Conduct apply to members of the press or other
visitors to RCFM, especially the policy on harassment.
- Please keep public displays of affection to a minimum in all public areas. Overt displays of
affection can be considered a violation by security staff. Hugging, back scratches, and
non-sexual kissing is fine, but this is a family oriented environment and will be kept that
way.
- Nudity or obscenity in violation of state or local law will be considered a serious violation
and can result in badge removal and expulsion. Fursuits and other costumes are subject to these
same nudity and obscenity laws and, if necessary, must be dressed or behave accordingly.
- Outright displays of BDSM or bondage gear should be kept in private areas as they may be
considered a violation. Collars are fine, but please don't go overboard.
Remember that we're here to have fun, so be sure to enjoy the time that you spend
at RCFM and we hope to see here again next year.
